PEORIA, AZ — No injuries were reported after a small plane crashed into an abandoned trailer and landed on the road near Lake Pleasant.
At around noon Tuesday, Peoria Fire crews were called to State Route 74 near Lake Pleasant Parkway for reports of a plane down.
Officials say no injuries were reported to the pilot or anybody on the ground in the area.
The National Transportation Safety Board tells ABC15 it is working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to investigate the crash of a Nanchang CJ-6 Alpha airplane.
NTSB officials say preliminary information suggests the plane crashed in the field of the permanently closed Pleasant Valley Airport facility, due to engine issues.
The wreckage will be collected and taken to an offsite facility for further examination.
