The Peoria Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly stole a purse from a parked car late last year.

The incident happened on Dec. 13 near Peoria and 96th avenues around 5:40 p.m.

Police say the suspect and an accomplice were parked nearby watching people exit their vehicles.

As seen on the surveillance video in the player above, one of the suspects got out of their car and broke a window in the victim’s car before taking her purse.

The incident happened in less than a minute, while the woman was inside a daycare picking up her child.

This was the second time the suspect approached a vehicle in the area. Moments before this theft the man walked toward another car in the parking lot but walked away when the driver came back.

The suspect appears to be a white or light-skinned Hispanic male between the ages of 16 and 25 years old and has an average build. The man was wearing a dark shirt and pants with a black and red baseball hat with an Arizona flag logo on the front.

The two took off in a four-door white Acura with a sunroof and chrome colored wheels.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Peoria Police Department at 623-773-8311.
