SUN CITY, AZ — A deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was injured while trying to arrest a theft suspect in Sun City on Monday afternoon.
According to MCSO officials, two deputies responded to reports of a person removing tags from items at a Beal's store near 107th and Grand avenues around 2:00 p.m.
When the deputies tried to engage the suspect, they attempted to flee. During the arrest attempt, the suspect and one of the deputies sustained minor injuries.
No one else was injured during the incident, and the suspect was taken into custody.
