A two-year-old child has died after being pulled from a pool in Surprise on Wednesday.
The incident happened at a home near Grand Avenue and Reems Road around 1:00 p.m.
Surprise Fire-Medical Department said a family member found the boy in the backyard pool and pulled him out. He was transported to an nearby hospital via helicopter.
Surprise police announced on Thursday morning the child passed away from his injuries.
This is the 13th fatal drowning incident and the 26th known drowning/near-drowning incident in the Valley in 2018.
