A person is in "extremely critical condition" after a crash involving a bicyclist and a vehicle, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on eastbound Grand Avenue at Greenway Road in the northwestern part of the Valley. The eastbound lanes are closed while authorities investigate.
A DPS spokesperson initially said the crash involved a fatality, but later clarified that the person was in extremely critical condition. The spokesperson added that the person would likely not survive his or her injuries.
There is no estimate when the eastbound lanes will reopen, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
