A 9-year-old boy was seriously injured after a 36-year-old man hit the child in the face.
According to the Surprise Police Department, around 5:40 p.m. on December 9th Jason Overholts assaulted a boy by punching the child in the face with a closed fist.
The incident happened near Cactus and Reems roads. The boy suffered serious injuries to his cheekbones and also lost several teeth as a result of the physical altercation.
Overholts, a resident of Surprise, was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail and is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
