Surprise police are investigating a deadly shooting at a Surprise sports grill.
The incident happened late Wednesday night at Tailgaters Sports Grill near Bell and Reems roads.
Video from the scene showed multiple police vehicles and crime scene tape around the restaurant into the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police say 28-year-old Troy Paille of Surprise shot another man outside of the restaurant.
When officers arrived, restaurant patrons were physically restraining Paille while others were rendering aid to the victim.
The victim, a 27-year-old Surprise resident, died from his injuries at the hospital. He has not yet been publicly identified.
Police say Paille and the victim were “associates” and had previous disputes. Police say this was a targeted attack and an isolated incident, according to the investigation findings.
Paille was booked into jail on first-degree murder, weapons misconduct and marijuana possession charges.
