Get ready to cool off and learn about the unique history of the Verde River!
You'll be cruising down it thanks to this family-run business, Clarkdale Kayaking Company! They have over 40 current model Liquid Logic and Dagger Boats. Enjoy the sit-on-top design making these kayaks comfortable, stable and safe for both adults and children, ages five to 12. You can either ride by yourself or tandem.
You'll have about two-and-a-half hours to float past three-and-a-half miles of the river, taking in the sights of 900-year old ruins, native willow trees, red rocks, canyons, lush desert forests and wildlife! The website states, "there isn't any true whitewater. Along the way you can expect a variety of exhilarating little chutes and riffles, interspersed between scenic, tranquil pools."
WHAT TO BRING:
You should bring appropriate footwear, sunscreen, a sun hat, clothes for the water, and a change of clothes in case you get wet! They provide an ACA Certified Guide, kayak, paddle, squirt gun, bottled water, shuttle service to and from the river and more!
