Does the Melon Slicer create perfect slices?

Posted

Cutting up melons can be a huge pain and it makes a mess, but the Melon Slicer is supposed to do all of the hard work for you.

It cost me $5 at Albertson's.

The Melon Slicer didn't come with any instructions, so I looked online to see if I was supposed to cut one side of the melon or both.

I also found out the Melon Slicer is supposed to cut up more than just melons, so we bought all sorts of fruit, including watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple and an apple.

I started with the watermelon and rocked the slicer back and forth like I saw online.

I have to say it took a lot of muscle, but it actually worked. I got perfect slices.

It wasn't so great for a large watermelon because it simply wouldn't fit.

Next up, the cantaloupe, which was extremely easy.

It also worked well for both the pineapple and apple, but it also took a lot of muscle.

But check out the results in the video above: 12 perfect slices for each fruit, and it removed the core.

The Melon Slicer lived up to the claim, and I got perfect slices for pretty much everything I tried.

Although it was somewhat difficult, I think it's definitely worth the $5.

I'm curious to see how long the blades last because I did notice they bent a little after using it 10 times.
