FREE art, music, dessert and more

It's first Friday and that means thousands of people will take over the streets of downtown Phoenix for the First Friday Art Walk.

You can tour dozens of art galleries, plus there is music and several attractions and venues that open their doors with free admission.

The event is from 6 to 10 p.m. and there are maps online to make it easier for you explore the area.

If you'd prefer to sit back and relax, head over to the Westgate Entertainment District for some live music.

Saturday, October 3, they will have an alternative rock band playing 80s and 90s rock.

It's from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Fountain Park.

Cool off with a free Slurpee from 7-Eleven.

Just text the word "SIXFLAGS" to 711711 and you'll get a text right back with a coupon for a free medium Slurpee.

Now’s your chance to get a sneak peek at the Phoenix Suns at the Madhouse on McDowell Scrimmage.

They are having a Fan Fest and Scrimmage on Saturday, October 3 at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

There will be interactive games, autographs, giveaways and more!

The Fan Fest starts at 3 p.m. and the scrimmage starts at 6 p.m.

Admission to both events are free.
