PHOENIX — Let's make this edition of Freebie Friday all about holiday activities for the family!
Would your children be interested in being Santa's Little Helper? If so, Desert Ridge is hosting its first ever Elf Academy tomorrow (12/15). From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids can go to several different elf stations and learn from professional elves about how to do their job. Then they become an honorary elf with a certificate, and it's all FREE! There will be all kinds of fun and creative games too, like Candy Cane Ring Toss, Cup Stacking, Rudolph Nose Flip, where you try to get a pom pom on your nose, letters to Santa, and so much more!

"Celebrate the Jolly Holidays" at Surprise Towne Center and Surprise Marketplace on Saturday (12/15) from Noon to 3 p.m. Enjoy free photos with Old Saint Nick, local Surprise schools musical performances, arts and crafts, festive face painters, balloon artists, wheel prizes, and the Surprise Fire Department. They are also doing what's called, "Five for $5." Guests are encouraged to bring five cans of food or non-perishable food items that will be donated to the St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance of Surprise. For the donation, guests will receive a $5 gift card from the many stores and restaurants at Surprise Towne Center and Surprise Marketplace.

Move over Santa! How would you and your kiddos like to meet Mrs. Claus for free this weekend? Just head to Park West in Peoria on Sunday (12/16) from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be stilt walkers, balloon artists, and face painters! Kids can also do crafts, making snow globes, ornaments and more! Plus, Grimaldi's will also be passing out complimentary cannolis!
