This weekend was all about The Oscars. We've already shown you how to stream movies for free from home, but now you might be inspired to catch a flick in theaters. So, here are some ways to save!

We will do a countdown, starting in the $6 range and work down to $1.

SIX!

  • You can catch movies at Alamo Drafthouse in Tempe and Chandler for $6.25 before 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

FIVE!

  • Westwind Glendale Drive-In is $5.50 per person on Tuesday nights, kids ages five to 11 are $1.50, and ages four and under are free!
  • On Tuesdays at AMC Theatres, Stub Members can buy movie tickets for $5 each.
  • At Scottsdale's Studio Movie Grill, you can also catch movies for $5 on Tuesdays. This does not require a membership.
  • Harkins Theatres does $5 Classics, and this spring, you can enjoy $5 Musical Mondays, where you can see shows like Chicago, West Side Story, and more!

FOUR!

  • At Picture Show in Paradise Valley, enjoy $4 movies all day on Tuesdays.

THREE, TWO, ONE!

  • Pollack Tempe Cinemas shows movies for the low price of $3.50. On Tuesdays, tickets are only $2.50!
  • Super Saver Cinemas in Phoenix, there you'll see second and third run movies for $3, but on Tuesdays, it's only $1.50.

Here are the keys to saving at the movies:

  • Join the Rewards programs, especially the free ones. You earn points for every purchase, that can be redeemed later for tickets and concessions.
  • See movies in the morning, rather than at night to take advantage of matinee pricing.
  • Purchase movie tickets at the theater, so you avoid the online service fees.
  • And always, check the promotions page for extra discounts at your favorite theater. You may also find discounts for military members, seniors, teachers and students.
