Let's talk prices. The day will be broken into two sections. The first session from 8 a.m. to noon costs $5 to get in. Doors close from noon to 1. Then, from 1 to 4 p.m., it's FREE to get in, and all the items are half off. Heads up! It's $10 to park at the fairgrounds, cash only.
There will be about 3,000 shoppers, more than 1,000 JLP members, and around 1,800 volunteers making this happen. Over the last 82 years, this sale has raised more than $7 million! And, it truly is a win-win. The proceeds from the sale are going toward the effort they refer to as, "Building a Healthy Arizona", and will help support the following:
- ROCKETS —Raising Our Children’s Knowledge by Educating Through Science, a program that promotes early childhood development of science skills.
- Kids in the Kitchen, a nutritional initiative that seeks to combat childhood obesity.
- Kids Cook with Heart, a partnership with the American Heart Association that provides hands-on healthy cooking classes and nutrition and cardio vascular health education to valley youth, Ending Hunger in the Classroom.
