Cartwheel

Are you even a real Target shopper if you don't use the Cartwheel app? Rarely is there a time when I don't get at least five percent off a Market Pantry brand item. The new Target app makes it easy to scan things before you put them in your cart to see if there are any available discounts.

Markdown Schedule

According to All Things Target, Target marks down the clearance items in each department on a specific day. This schedule may vary slightly from store to store.

Monday - Electronics, Accessories, Kids Clothing, Books, Baby and Stationery

Tuesday - Domestics, Women's Clothing, Pets and Market (food items)

Wednesday - Men's Clothing, Health and Beauty, Diapers, Lawn & Garden items and Furniture

Thursday - Housewares, Lingerie, Shoes, Toys, Sporting Goods, Decor & Luggage

Friday - Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, & Jewelry

End of Aisle Deals

Check the items on the shelves at the end of the aisles. Many of them are things people bought online and returned to that store. You can find deep discounts.

Dollar Spot

Hello, seasonal decor!  This is a great place to pick up decorations for every holiday. It's even better if you buy the holiday decor after the holiday! It's on clearance then! It's also a hot spot for kids prizes or goodies for grab bags. Plus, if your child has to buy something before leaving the store, steer them to this section at the front of the store. It will be much less painful at checkout than if you take them to the toy section.

Holiday Clearance

Are you good at math? Even if you're not, I think you know that 90 percent off is ah-may-zing! The discounts on items like holiday candy and decor and Halloween costumes will likely start at 50 percent off right after the holiday, but it will eventually drop to 90 percent. However, by the time it gets that low, the best things have been snatched up.

Free Gift Cards

Often Target has promotions for a free gift card after you spend so much. For example, around holidays you may see "spend $50 on groceries, get a $10 gift card." This is like free money! Well, kind of.
