Gift cards can be amazing and easy gifts to give during the holiday season, and there are so many incentives to buy! Just be sure to protect your cash.
We've warned you about free gift card scams and fake coupons. Some have been circulating on social media, including a popular post says that you can get a $75 Costco coupon by clicking on the link and entering personal information. But don't fall for it! That is a hoax that happens every year.
This morning, we ran a story urging you to use caution when it comes to gift card offers that say something like, "Pay $10, get $100 in gift cards."
Also, watch out for texts that say you were randomly selected to win a gift card to a major retailer. Big companies will give away gift cards, but when it is in exchange for something else.
Now that the cautioning is out of the way, there are lots of legitimate gift card deals out there right now. Buy a certain amount, that gift card can go to someone else, and you get the free money that comes with it!
