Simple ways to get rid of stinky trash smells with things you have at home

I don’t expect the garbage to smell like roses, but it doesn’t have to leave the whole house smelling like trash.

I have three ways to stop the lingering smell and keep it away for good!

First, place a couple of layers of newspaper at the bottom of the trash can to absorb the leaks.

You can also make a sachet (using a coffee filter with baking soda and your favorite essential oil) and set it at the bottom of your trash.

You can also use your dryer sheets. Just drop one at the bottom of the trash can, and voila -- laundry fresh.

Another option is to add a spray of a natural pet-odor deodorant to the trash to suppress the bad smells. You can also add cat litter to the bottom of your trash can.

Try sprinkling baking soda in the bottom of the trash can or even directly on top of kitchen scraps. That should help absorb and eliminate some of those stinky odors.
