For some, Easter spending rivals that of other major holidays.  There's the dinner, the gifts and of course, all that candy.  So let's compare some of the prices at two retail giants.

Target and Wal-Mart.

We'll start with an Easter basket staple -- Peeps.  You'll pay about 11 cents per chick at both stores.

How about Turtle Eggs?  Target wins this round. You'll pay $4.74 for six eggs.  At WalMart, the price is $4.98.

But Wal-Mart doesn't stay down.  Five Paas Color Cups will cost you $1.48.  At Target it's $2.50 for the same cups.

So which store is Smart Shopper crowning the Easter savings king?

Walmart.

Their price for the ten items we shopped is $26.95.  Target charges $29.74 for the same items.
