GLENDALE, AZ — It's prom season, and let's face it, the whole experience from attire to dinner to tickets can get expensive! But, The Prom Closet is here to help! How does FREE sound for this promposal?
Glendale Landmark Elementary School is opening up the gymnasium and transforming it into a boutique for high school students. There are beautiful, new and gently-used dresses, accessories, heels and bling. They also have pants, shirts, cummerbunds, jackets, ties and bow ties. So, where does the freebie come in?
HOW IT WORKS:
Students can get one outfit FREE OF CHARGE! Peoria North Rotary Club collects, sorts, stores and cleans the items every years, and then they give it all away! They're accepting donations year round if you have anything to give.
Bring your student I.D., and a volunteer will go with you like a personal shopping assistant. Then, it's a limit of one outfit per person. There are no financial requirements, restrictions or other stipulations to participate.
This Saturday is the first shopping opportunity, and there will be five total. Click here for more details.
The website shows the goal, and it states, "We aim to build confidence in young people by giving them the opportunity to dress up, to feel beautiful and special. When you feel good about the way you look, it builds confidence. When you have confidence and better self-esteem, you make better decisions."
