We decided to switch it up this week! There are thousands and thousands of life hacks, but which ones actually work? Instead of testing out products, we're testing three life hacks to see if they will save you time and money.
BALLOONS AND RUBBER BANDS CAN ACT AS ERASERS?
With your busy schedule, it's smart to pencil things in, but what if you don't have an eraser to make a change? (Cue the dramatic DUN, DUN, DUN music!)
The claim is you can rub a balloon and thicker rubber band on the pencil marks to erase them. When we tested it, the rubber band just smudged the graphite or lead. If you're in a pinch, go for a balloon! It erased almost as well as a real eraser. We're saying BULL for the rubber band and NO BULL for the balloon!
CAN WALNUTS FIX DAMAGED WOODEN FURNITURE?
Supposedly, if you rub a walnut on the dings on your wooden furniture, it should cover them up.
We tested out the claim on a chest of drawers. We found that it leaves an oily texture and made no difference on the deep slices and knicks, but it works well on lighter scratches and scuffs. So, we're going with NO BULL!
DOES COCA COLA ACTUALLY FIX FOGGY HEADLIGHTS?
If you want to make your foggy headlights sparkle, you'll find lots of sites encouraging you to use Coca-Cola. Apparently, you can pour them over your headlights, wipe off the excess with paper towels, and they should shine again! Should is the key word.
We tried it with Coca-Cola on one headlight, and water on the other. Both cleared for a few seconds, but fogged up again, looking almost identical to how it was before the experiment.
So, where does this one rank on our Bull or No Bull meter? We went with BULL!
