A stretch of U.S. 60 in east-central Arizona will be closed for four hours on Thursday for construction work that involves blasting and removal of debris.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound traffic will be stopped east of Superior and westbound traffic will be stopped west of Miami from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
ADOT says the closure is for blasting work for construction of a passing lane and widening of roadway shoulders.
The department says an alternate route would consist of taking State Routes 77 and 17 through Winkelman. Another would be taking State Routes 87 and State Route 260 thorough Payson.
