BIGHORN SHEEP! 30 animals returned to historical habitat in Payson, Tucson

After the rain comes the rainbow! Thirty bighorn sheep are calling Payson their home once again thanks to the special care of Arizona's Game and Fish Department. April 2018's Tinder Fire engulfed more than 16,300 acres close to the release site. Something good is now coming from the forest devastation -- an opportunity for vast vegetation regrowth which will provide improved habitat conditions for these beautiful creatures.

Thirty other bighorn sheep were simultaneously released into the Picacho Mountains closer to Tucson. The video you see is from that release by Arizona's Game and Fish Department.
