TUCSON, AZ — A Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient has been arrested for smuggling an illegal man near Lukeville, Arizona Tuesday night.

U.S. Border Patrol agents out of Tucson caught a 29-year-old woman, attempting to smuggle a 21-year-old man in the inspection lane at the State Route 85 immigration checkpoint.

The DACA recipient was caught in a secondary inspection at around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Agents determined the driver, a Colorado resident, to be smuggling the passenger across the border, a Mexican national who was illegally in the United States.

The Kia sedan was seized by Border Patrol agents and the woman is now custody with human smuggling charges. The illegal alien man has been processed for violation of immigration laws.
