PHOENIX — When an AMBER Alert is issued in Arizona, it's all hands on deck to find the missing child or children as a multi-agency task force takes over the search. Captain Thomas Neve with the Arizona Department of Public Safety says it's a partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as well as broadcast and media partners.
Law enforcement resources work together as efficiently as possible to accomplish the goal of getting the child out of harm's way. That includes working with the Arizona Department of Transportation, having highway message boards post vital information.
"That's all happening very fast very rapidly we get a lot of tips and things coming in from the public so again all those resources are critical," said Neve.
A local example happened just last week out of Williams, Arizona. A member of the public thought they spotted an AMBER Alert victim out of West Virginia, immediately notifying police who followed up on the call.
