TUCSON, AZ — Former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has been released from the hospital after suffering appendicitis.

Eleven years ago, I left the hospital facing a lifetime of recovery. Giffords checked into a hospital on Tuesday and was released on Saturday, according to a video she posted on her Twitter account.
