Health officials: 21 new deaths reported in Arizona on each of last two days from COVID-19

PHOENIX — New data released from state health officials shows 21 new deaths were reported in our state on each of the last two days due to coronavirus.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, on Monday, there were 5,064 cases in Arizona. There were 187 deaths that had been reported.

By Tuesday, state health officials reported 5,251 cases with 208 deaths, a jump of 21 deaths.

Data also shows only 652 tests were performed by state and private labs within that 24-hour period.

On Wednesday, health officials reported 21 more deaths since Tuesday, bringing the total reported to 229. They reported a new total of 5,459 reported cases.
