Two young wild horses were reportedly shot and killed over the weekend in Navajo County.
The Heber Wild Horse group on Facebook posted the news Sunday, saying two stallions were found dead on Saturday along Forest Service Road 50.
They say Navajo County Sheriff’s Department investigated and turned over the investigation to Forest Service officials.
ABC15 has reached out to Forest Service to learn more about the investigation.
The Heber Wild Horse advocates on Facebook are urging anyone with information to let them know.
"Please, if anybody knows anything about this, please contact us through private message," the Sunday post reads. "If you were in the area yesterday and saw any vehicles or heard gunshots, please let us know. If you've heard any rumors, let us know. We want to stay on top of this and make sure a thorough investigation is done. Somebody knows something, please keep your eyes and ears open and if you head out to the forest be careful!
