Arizona's unemployment rate held steady for a third consecutive month in June as the state shed jobs in a move that was fairly typical for the period.
The state's unemployment rate remained at 4.9% for June, according to data released Thursday by the Office of Economic Opportunity.
Arizona lost 44,600 non-farm jobs month over month, which was less than the 10-year (2009-2018) average loss of 52,700 jobs for June.
The bulk of those losses came from the government sector — 41,800 — likely as a result of the school year coming to a close for summer vacation.
