PHOENIX — Elizabeth Venable has been delivering personal protection equipment and other sanitation supplies to homeless living on the streets in downtown Phoenix twice a week since the pandemic hit Arizona.

Venable says the homeless need these supplies the most explaining, "They're living close to other people. They often have coexisting conditions that are conditions that would make them much more likely to die from corona virus and they're currently not receiving services. A lot of the services have dropped off."
Governor Ducey allocated $5 million for homeless shelters from the $50 million COVID-19 relief package.
Venable hopes those funds are spent providing the homeless with shelter to self-isolate and sanitary supplies like masks, sanitizer, soap, restrooms and more.
She says. "I believe that if they don't invest in these things the disease will spread and so many people will die. Some in their tents."
