WITTMANN, Ariz. — A suspect has been taken into custody after an hours-long barricade situation in Wittmann on Christmas Day.
Officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to US 60 and Patton Road to make contact with a person inside a home. When deputies arrived at the scene, officials say shots were fired. Deputies believe the shots were fired from inside the home and took tactical positions for cover.
The SWAT team was called in to assist.
MCSO said after several hours, authorities were able to take the suspect into custody with the assistance of a K9 officer.
The suspect was arrested and is facing charges for armed robbery. The suspect has not yet been identified.
