ELOY, AZ — One person is dead after a small plane crash near Eloy.

Eloy Police Department officials say they got the call for reports of a plane down just after 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The aircraft was a single-engine fixed-wing Series 5 Kitfox.

Officials tell ABC15 that one person, the pilot, was on board and has died. Officials identified the victim as Kenneth Szeluga of Tucson.

The crash reportedly occurred after Szeluga had taken off for his return flight from Eloy to Tucson.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash.
