GOLDEN VALLEY, AZ — A 9-year-old boy was found dead after Mohave County Sheriff's officials asked for the public's assistance locating him Thursday evening.

On Thursday, officials said Alexander Lee, 9, went missing near Dewey and Agua Fria in Golden Valley.

MCSO said they were made aware of the missing boy before 7 p.m. Thursday. He was last seen around noon Thursday while riding a dark green Yamaha quad.

Search-and-rescue teams reportedly found Lee in a wash near Estrella Road and Chino Drive around 9:15 p.m. His quad was found nearby and it appeared to have been involved in a "traffic incident." Officials believe the boy was ejected from the quad.

Life-saving measures were performed on the boy, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
