PHOENIX — Albertsons, Safeway and Hormel Foods Corporation, have partnered up to donate over 1,000 Hormel half hams, and over 12,000 jars of peanut butter to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

These donations will help support the SVdP's holiday food drive at Safeway and Albertsons locations in the Phoenix area.

"This amazing donation is one of the largest single food donations in our 73-year history," said Steve Zabilski, Executive Director at St. Vincent de Paul. "Our hearts are filled with gratitude for this amazing kindness from the people of Hormel Foods and from Albertsons and Safeway stores."

In 2018, SVdP delivered over 300,000 food boxes to families in need across the greater Phoenix area and in Northern Arizona.

"The team and customers at Hormel Foods and the employees and shoppers at Albertson's and Safeway should be very proud to know that this wonderful donation will go directly to our Food Reclamation operation that is one of the largest in the Southwest and is dedicated to providing for food boxes used on home visits by our Vincentians," said Zabilski.

Hormel Foods will also make a donation of over 55,000 hams to various charities across the nation, this holiday season.
