Firefighters from the Daisy Mountain Fire Department along with local agencies are battling the fire that is burning in hard-to-access terrain through tall grasses and brush.
Multiple air resources and ground units have been ordered, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, which has taken command of the fire.
Officials say because of where the fire is burning, air support will play a "major role" in suppressing the fire.
As of Sunday afternoon, fire officials said heavy air resources had helped stop forward progression of the fire.
