Get ready to bust some dance moves in the kitchen or sing your heart out in the bathroom!
Arizona Broadway Theatre wants to give kids and teens an outlet with the arts while stages are dark.
HyRev, which is a youth performance troupe with West Valley Company, is offering online Zoom courses.
"It was fun seeing their faces of like, 'Oh my gosh! This is... this is what I've been missing in my daily life,'" said Lynzee Foreman as she sat next to her husband, Mark.
The couple usually teaches the 90-minute singing and dancing workshop in person, but every weekend they now log online to instruct instead.
"We realized that the musical theatre kids are going crazy right now because their whole existence is basically performing," Lynzee joked.
The Foremans pick pop songs or musical theatre songs and then Mark teaches the music while Lynzee focuses on the choreography to go along with it.
"The fun songs from musical theatre... the ones that have dance breaks in them," Mark explained. "We are trying to focus on more of the up tempo stuff."
They hope it can keep kids and teens moving with the creativity flowing during the crisis.
HyRev is usually geared for ages 10 - 19, but Mark wants to make it clear: everyone is welcome to join right now.
"Because we're going to need... we need to stay in shape. Two, we need something to do," Mark said.
If you want to enroll someone in your family, send an email to Lynzee at LJP4man@gmail.com. Registration is $10 per class, which can be sent via Zelle or Venmo.
Once you are registered, the will send you the sheet music for the week and the private Zoom link for the class.
Classes are Saturday at 2 p.m.
