International terror and what it means to the United States is the main topic of a far-reaching interview when Arizona Sen. John McCain and former US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton came to the ABC15 studios Friday.

Bolton is supporting McCain in his bid to win re-election in Arizona, which would mark his sixth term.

McCain is chairman of the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee.

When asked about the recent Syrian refugee crisis and how the U.S. should handle those who want to come to our country, McCain says, “We should have a short term pause at least to examine all avenues that people use to come into this country.” Adding, “I am sure that Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, is telling young men to join the refugee flow, get to the United States and commit an act of terror."

McCain says national security should be our top priority.
