YARNELL, AZ — Friday marked 10 years since 19 Granite Mountain hotshots were killed battling the Yarnell Hill Fire.

A memorial was held in Prescott at the Yavapai County Courthouse.

Video of that memorial can be watched back in the player above.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs spoke at the event along with loved ones of the Hotshots.

Fallen Hotshot Andrew Ashcraft's 16-year-old son Ryder Ashcraft spoke at the event, sharing an inspiring message from his dad.

"I love my dad," said Ryder. "My intentional commitment to live a life as a better person everyday is the way I remember him."

Ryder showed the crowd and ABC15 his "be better" bracelet. It was a gift from his dad that reminds Ryder of how his dad would live his life, trying to be a better person each day.

"I believe he's not done saving lives, neither are his 18 crewmates," said Ryder. "Now, however, they must save lives through us."
