PHOENIX — More than a hundred children will have a sweet gift under the tree this year, thanks to the generosity and help of Beth Ganer, of Gilbert.

Ganer said she has donated to ABC15’s Operation Santa Claus in the past, but this year, she wanted to go another step further.

She was buying baby dolls a few months ago, and her collection quickly grew to 110 dolls, all destined for children to open during the holidays.

“To me, there is just nothing more special than giving a little girl a baby doll to cuddle, and especially this year given what we’ve been through,” she said. “So, it’s really been a labor of love for both my husband and I.”

On Wednesday, she brought the dolls to Sanderson Ford in Glendale to donate them to Operation Santa Claus. Because there were so many, the couple rented a U-Haul truck to deliver them.

“It really has made my holiday season,” Ganer said.

Operation Santa Claus has been helping families in need enjoy the holidays for the past 20 years. The annual charity drive runs through December 16. To donate, click here.
