The holiday season gets most people in the spirit of giving, and one store in the high country is hoping that customers will offer support to keep the doors open. The employees are literally wishing for a Christmas miracle.
VIP Shoe Fashion in Cottonwood opened three years ago. Inside, there are shoes, clothes, makeup, jewelry, purses, masks and much more.
When the pandemic began, the store hours and days were limited. Manager Brittney Privette said VIP Shoe Fashion closed for eight weeks at one point. Then, when the store re-opened, business was steady for only about two weeks. Now, she and the owner are back to barely surviving.
Privette's boss, VIP Shoe Fashion Owner Jose Luis, expressed that the store may close in January unless more customers come in.
Privette shared there is a sign spinner out front trying to draw in a crowd, and they're working on flyers. None of the store merchandise can be bought online, so they're asking customers to physically shop. That's the only way to keep their doors open at this point.
Masks are required, sanitation is available, and Privette ensures that customer health and safety is a priority.
So, for those planning to take a trip to the high country, consider Cottonwood. Instead of driving past the shops, think of the people inside of them. Stop, stay a while, and shop to help keep their dream and store open. Privette shared that customer support would help keep food on the table for her family.
