We're Open, Arizona: How Arizona independent bookstores are navigating the pandemic

PHOENIX — Throughout the pandemic, many people have rekindled old hobbies and interests or found new ones, such as reading more, cooking more, coloring, puzzles, or working out.

For independent bookstores around the Valley, that meant taking their business operations mostly online. While a better-than-most problem to have, it does not make up for the community that's missing inside those stores hosting book clubs, author meet-and-greets and book signing, and workshops.

For our latest "We're Open, Arizona" story, we take a look at how Changing Hands Bookstore, The Poisoned Pen, and Bookmans Entertainment Exchange have navigated the pandemic.
