ALPINE, AZ — Fire evacuations have been lifted after a fire broke out near Alpine in Apache County on Tuesday.

On Tuesday afternoon, Alpine Village East and the surrounding area were put on 'GO' evacuation status due to a nearby fire that grew to about 26 acres.

Highway 191 was closed from milepost 251 to 253 but it has since reopened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Alpine Fire Department says no structures have been damaged.
