PHOENIX — Citing the continued uncertainty about fans and live sports amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Arizona Cardinals have canceled all season tickets for the upcoming season, according to an email sent to season ticket holders Thursday morning.
Season ticket holders will, however, be among the first fans allowed to purchase tickets to upcoming home games, if fans are allowed inside State Farm Stadium.
"You likely heard last Friday’s news that the NFL and the NFLPA agreed to cancel all 2020 preseason games. As for the regular season, it is not clear at this point how many spectators – if any - will be permitted to attend Cardinals home games in 2020. As such, all previous season ticket sales have been voided. All credits currently remain on account," the email, which was shared with ABC15, said.
Ticket holders who do not purchase tickets this year "will retain all renewal rights and seniority for the 2021 season and DO NOT NEED TO CONTACT THE CARDINALS," the email said. Any remaining credits will be applied to the purchase of 2021 season tickets at the 2020 season's pricing, the email said.
Fans could also request a refund via a link that was included in the email.
"We are working closely with the state of Arizona and know that any decision regarding spectators attending games will be made with extraordinary care and the highest regard for public health and safety," the team said.
