Jeff Gladney, who just signed with the Arizona Cardinals this spring, has died in a car crash in Texas, according to reports.

The 25-year-old cornerback died Monday morning, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, who reportedly confirmed the news with Gladney’s agent.

According to ESPN, the crash occurred when one speeding vehicle clipped a car in front of it, losing control and hitting a freeway beam. Dallas Fire-Rescue reportedly said a woman also died in the crash.

Just days before the crash, Gladney closed on a home for his mother in the Dallas area, family told ABC15.

Gladney's family also says he leaves behind a 1-year-old son.
