The brother of former Arizona Cardinals running back Chris "Beanie" Wells, was shot and killed in Akron, Ohio on Thursday morning, News 5 Cleveland reported.
Per the report, 31-year-old Joel Wells was found lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to his head early Thursday. He was pronounced dead on the scene by police.
Wells told News 5 Cleveland that he is offering a $15,000 reward for the apprehension of the suspect.
Beanie Wells starred at Ohio State and was selected by the Cardinals with the 31st overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He rushed for 2,471 yards and 24 touchdowns during his four seasons with the Cardinals, and he had a 1,000-yard rushing season in 2011. He is currently a radio host on 97.1 The Fan in Ohio.
