PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have a new furry friend on the roster and he is named after a D-back great! Meet Brenly, a six-month-old golden retriever rescue named after the historied Diamondbacks analyst. The D-backs invited this lucky fluff into Baxter's home and everyone is excited to see more of him.

Brenly will train with Gabriel's Angels to become a certified therapy dog. Thanks to a partnership with Raising Cane's, he gets to use Chase Field as the classroom for five of the sessions throughout the season. You can meet Brenly and help him train (by giving him hugs and head pats) at two more upcoming Sunday games!

Go say hi to Brenly (Phoenix Children's Hospital Sandlot in the upper deck) at these games:

  • August 18, D-backs vs. San Francisco Giants
  • September 15, D-backs vs. Cincinnati Reds
