By virtue of its second-place finish in the Pac-12, the Arizona State Sun Devils men's basketball team earned a No. 2 seed and a first-round bye for the 2019 Pac-12 Tournament that began Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Devils are set to face No. 7 seed UCLA, which defeated No. 10 seed Stanford on Wednesday, in Thursday's quarterfinal matchup. That game will begin at 6 p.m. and will air on Pac-12 Network.

The Sun Devils won their only matchup of the season against the Bruins, 84-73 at UCLA on Jan. 24.

If the Devils beat UCLA, they will play a semifinal game against No. 6 seed Oregon or No. 3 seed Utah on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The championship game will take place Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The semifinals and finals will be aired on ESPN.

The Sun Devils have never won the men's Pac-12 Tournament championship.

Washington won the regular-season Pac-12 championship and is the No. 1 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament. The Huskies will open the tournament by facing No. 8 seed USC, which defeated No. 9 seed Arizona on Wednesday.

The winner of the Pac-12 Tournament will receive an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

Under fourth-year head coach Bobby Hurley, the Sun Devils finished the regular season with a 21-9 overall record and 12-6 record in the Pac-12. They defeated Arizona in Tucson on Saturday to boost their chances of advancing to the NCAA Tournament, regardless of whether they win the Pac-12 Tournament.
