BOSTON, MA — Another chapter in a longtime rivalry happens Saturday as the Los Angeles Lakers head east to take on the Boston Celtics.
Both the Lakers (14-6) and the Celtics (10-7) are coming off of a loss, but the two are right in the playoff mix as expected before the season began. The Lakers sit at third in the Western Conference, and Boston is fifth in the Eastern Conference but only two games behind the first-place 76ers.
As expected, the Lakers have been led this season by the duo of Lebron James and Anthony Davis. Davis, however, sat out of Thursday’s game against Detroit with a bruised quad. He’s questionable for Saturday’s matchup but is expected to play.
Lebron has averaged 25 points and 7 assists per game this season, while Davis has averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds.
Boston’s Jaylen Brown, on the other hand, has averaged 27 points per game, which ranks seventh in the NBA this season.
Watch the Lakers take on the Celtics Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on ABC15.
