The Arizona Cardinals made mandatory cuts Saturday to reduce their roster to the necessary 53 players for the regular season.
Some of the cuts that could be seen as surprises included wide receivers Brice Butler and Greg Little, fullback Elijhaa Penny, cornerback and 2018 sixth-round pick Chris Campbell, and linebacker and former Arizona Wildcats star Scooby Wright III.
The Cardinals also activated defensive end Markus Golden and tight end Jermaine Gresham from the Physically Unable to Perform list, placed defensive end Arthur Moats on injured reserve and reached an injury settlement with safety Harlan Miller.
The Cardinals will open the regular season next Sunday, Sept. 9 vs. the Washington Redskins in Glendale.
