Carson Palmer named Comeback Player of the Year

Posted

One year removed from a season-ending ACL tear, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer was named the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year by Sporting News on Tuesday.

In his 13th NFL season, Palmer is having an MVP-caliber year. His regular-season passer rating of 104.6, along with his 35 touchdown passes and 4,671 passing yards, were all single-season career highs.

Palmer missed the second half of last season following the second ACL tear of his career. But the now-healthy QB is looking for his first-ever playoff win when the Cards host the Packers on Saturday night.

Palmer is the primary reason oddsmakers have labeled the Cardinals as the favorites to win Super Bowl 50.
