For the second time in school history and the first time in seven years, the Arizona State Sun Devils are headed to the Las Vegas Bowl.
ASU will face Fresno State, the champions of the Mountain West Conference, in the bowl game at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m. Arizona time on Saturday, Dec. 15 and will air on ABC15.

The Sun Devils went 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the Pac-12 in Herm Edwards' first season as head coach. They earned wins over a pair of ranked opponents (Michigan State and Utah), and they rallied from 19 points down in the fourth quarter to defeat Arizona in the 92nd Territorial Cup game last weekend.
Fresno State is 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the Mountain West. The Bulldogs earned a 19-16 overtime win over host Boise State in Saturday's Mountain West Championship Game.
ASU's lone Las Vegas Bowl appearance to date came on Dec. 22, 2011. The Sun Devils lost that game to Boise State 56-24 in what was Dennis Erickson's final game as ASU head coach.
This will be Fresno State's third Las Vegas Bowl appearance. The Bulldogs lost each of their appearances to date, 17-16 to Utah in 1999 and 45-20 to USC in 2013.
The Las Vegas Bowl will be the Sun Devils' seventh bowl game in the last eight seasons. They fell to N.C. State 52-31 in last year's Sun Bowl.
