How about those Devils! ASU beats No. 2 Kansas on road to remain undefeated

On Monday, new ASU football coach Herm Edwards urged fans to climb aboard the Sun Devil train.

He wasn't talking about the 16th-ranked men's basketball team, but he might as well have been.

Coach Bobby Hurley's Devils went on the road to stun No. 2 Kansas 95-85 on Sunday to improve to 9-0 on the season. ASU is the only NCAA Division I team west of Texas that still has a winning record, and it's just the second 9-0 start in franchise history.

It was just the second non-conference home loss for Kansas since 2007, and it marked the seventh game this season that ASU scored at least 90 points.

Senior guard Tra Holder led the Devils with 29 points, and senior guard Kodi Justice's 3-pointer with less than three minutes to play sealed the Devils' win.

ASU's performance received national accolades, including from some experts who believe the Devils have a legitimate case to be ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Even Arizona governor and ASU alum Doug Ducey took time to congratulate the Devils on their huge victory.

The Sun Devils' next game comes Sunday when they host Vanderbilt at noon. Tickets can be purchased here.
